Join us for the 2024 "I Love NU" Week!

Love your university? Join us the week of March 4-8 to celebrate the University of Nebraska System's four campuses during our seventh annual "I Love NU" Week!

This year's celebration will include an in-person "I Love NU" Day event at the Nebraska State Capitol in Lincoln, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6th—more details are available below.

In addition to our in-person event, we'll also be celebrating on social media all week long—and it's easy for you to participate! Share your story of how the university has impacted you on social media with #ILoveNU, post a video or photo of you wearing your favorite campus gear with #ILoveNU, call or email your state senator using our Find Your Senator tool, or sign up to be an NU Advocate.

We'll be sharing resources and information on how you can get involved throughout the week, so be sure to follow us on , and !

"I Love NU" Day Celebration

You're invited to join us at the Nebraska State Capitol on Wednesday, March 6th from 1-3:00 p.m. for an "I Love NU" Day celebration! A full schedule is available to the right.

1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. — Welcome and Opening Remarks

"I Love NU" Day will begin with a short program featuring Interim President Chris Kabourek, Senators Teresa Ibach and Danielle Conrad, and our four student regents. All NU supporters should meet in Room 1524 on the first floor of the Capitol.

1:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. — Gather in the Balcony

After our short program, we will gather in the balcony of the Norris Legislative Chamber to be recognized by the Nebraska Legislature.

1:45 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. — Meet with State Senators in the Rotunda

Participants will have the opportunity to meet with state senators, take photos with campus mascots, and engage with fellow university supporters.

2:30 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. — Ice Cream Social and Capitol Tour

New in 2024, we will have an all-NU ice cream social, featuring ice cream from the UNL Dairy Store in the Capitol courtyard. Following the ice cream social, participants are invited to join UNK Chancellor Doug Kristensen for a special Capitol tour.

"I Love NU" Week Virtual Celebrations

During our 2024 virtual celebration, we will be highlighting the impact of students, faculty, staff and alums from across the NU System. On Monday, we’re celebrating the pursuit of knowledge and innovation. Researchers across the NU System have made groundbreaking discoveries that will shape the future of STEM, the humanities and many other fields. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and making an impact on Nebraska, the nation and the world.

Tuesday, March 5: Celebrating Students and Education

On Tuesday, we’re celebrating the heart of our institution: our students. On all four campuses, NU students are gaining hands-on experiences, developing skills for their future careers, expanding their networks, and giving back to the communities in which they live. And when they graduate, they become part of a global network of alumni making an impact every day.

Thursday, March 7: Growing Agriculture and Innovation

On Thursday, we’re highlighting the vital role the NU System plays in supporting Nebraska’s number one industry—and helping to address global challenges. Through cutting-edge research, extension and education, we're advancing agricultural practices and fostering innovation that will shape the future of food production and sustainability.

Friday, March 8: Creating a Healthier Future

On Friday, we’re highlighting how the work of NU faculty, staff, students and partners is helping to create a healthier future. From discovering and advancing breakthroughs in medicine to promoting public health initiatives and more, the NU System is making Nebraska—and the world—a healthier place for all.
